Areas of Learning
Classroom Ethos
Learning should be fun
Happy, secure and confident children learn better
All children should be encouraged to reach their
own potential, wherever their starting point
Respect is paramount – for each other, for the
adults they come across in the year group
and also for themselves
Positive Discipline
School follows the Jenny Moseley positive
reinforcement model – noticing and
reinforcing the good.
Aim to identify and praise children’s good
behaviour. You can continue this at home
too.

Growing Up
The children should continue to become more
independent now they are in Year 1, following on
from their experiences in K2 and their previous
schools.
We encourage them to:
Pack and unpack their own bag
Look after their own property - LABELLED!
Get dressed and undressed for PE and
Swimming.
