Ansaldo STS pioneered the first HS line (Paris - Lyon) in 1981 and has ever since been at the forefront of its development. Recent achievements include the completion of the Paris - London HSL to St. Pancras station, the newly built East European HS line linking Paris to Strasbourg (Beaudrecourt), and the acquisition of the first ERTMS HSL contract in Germany to equip the connection Saarbrücken - Mannheim. It provides a European railway standard for the development of signal and train control systems that enable more efficient use of the rail system, increased capacity, enhanced safety and full interoperability.
