 The current situation of the establishments
under the provisions of the Seveso Directive
in Greece is the following:
 85 upper tier establishments (safety
report, internal and external emergency
plans, information to the public, annual
inspection)
 132 lower tier establishments (notification
study, major accident prevention policy,
annual inspection)

What should do Seveso establishments for

 The operator is obliged to take all measures necessary





to prevent major accidents and to limit their
consequences for man and the environment
The operator is required to prove to the Authorities at
any time, that he has taken all the measures necessary
as specified in this Directive.
Compile and submit to the Authorities notification
or/and safety studies
Update all above mentioned Studies
Supports Authorities for the drawing up of the external
emergency plan of the establishment
