Kazakhstan Electricity Transmission Rehabilitation Project,
Phase II
Objective:
Improve technical level of equipment at Kazakhstan National Power Grid
(NPG) substations, ensure energy efficiency and reliability of
Kazakhstan NPG operation through installation of modern high voltage
equipment at substations
The Project provides for the following:
Replacement and installation of equipment at 55 substations of
Kazakhstan NPG
•500-220 kV power transformers and autotransformers
•35-500 kV instrument transformers
•35-500 kV switching equipment
•6-500 kV surge arresters
•35-500 kV post insulators
Implementation period: 2010-2016
Cost: KZT 52 billion (€ 255 million from EBRD plus company’s funds)
