Attractiveness of SEZ and IZ for large and medium of industrial enterprises is caused by :
-great investment potential of the southern region of the country ;
-availability of raw material in the region;
- availability of ready-made products trade area in the country, in countries of Central Asia
and far-abroad countries ;
- proximity to borders - SKO is borderline oblast;
- favorable location – the zone is situated near main transport truck roads
(«West Europe- West China»);
- availability of international airport in Shymkent;
- availability of dead-end siding of common use ;
- joining of Kazakhstan into Customs Alliance;
- availability of industrial zone and infrastructure for enterprises functioning.

Preferences on the territory of SEZ “Ontustyk”
and industrial zone of Shymkent city
Preferences on the territory of SEZ:
- exempted from property tax;
- land tax exemption;
- customs duties exemption;
- corporate income tax exemption.

- Allocation of land parcels for rent with period to 49 years and an opportunity of further (0.08 ¢ . for m2);
- An opportunity of further buy-out for installments (5 $ 83 ¢. for m2);

- Tariff for water is less on 25% than beyond the borders of Industrial zone (20 ¢);

In South-Kazakhstan oblast a big popularity gained Turkestan city.
Situated at the branching of Great Silk Way in XVI-XIX centuries Turkestan was spiritual and politic centre of
turk language people and it was capital of Kazakh khanate .
40 km to the north of Turkestan there are saved by a miracle picturesque ruins of ancient city Sauran (XVII),
known on Great Silk Way.
Pride of the land is Abu Nasr Al-Farabi- the second Aristotle of East, who was born in Otyrar city.
This land is connected with most interesting landmarks which are part of historical and cultural reserves and
touristic object.
formed in 1926 the reserve Aksu-Dzhabagly has become the first reserve created in Kazakhstan and
Central Asia. One of the most beautiful places of Kazakhstan is known also for unique archeological findings.
There are burial of plants and animals who lived here more than 140 million years ago at the place called Karabast
