What makes Newport so great?
Of last year’s graduates:
• About a dozen graduates maintain a 4.0 cumulative GPA
throughout high school.
• 5 of these graduates were National Merit Finalists,
representing the top one-half of one percent of graduates
in Washington.
• Over 150 graduates received scores of 3 or higher on 3 or
more AP exams
• Over 23 students successfully completed the Spanish
Immersion Program, remaining enrolled in Spanish from
K – 12 grade.

What makes Newport so great?

The Newport Chamber Orchestra is widely recognized as
one of the best string orchestras in the Pacific Northwest. A
large number of students are accepted into the All State
and All Northwest orchestras every year.

The choir and band had graduates make it into All-State
honors choir and band.

Graduates qualified for the DECA State competition. Every
Marketing student at Newport puts their knowledge and
skill to the test against students from 20 surrounding high
schools.
What makes Newport so great?


ASPEN seniors delivered thousands of hours of AIDS/STD
prevention education teaching and anti-bullying and
harassment lessons at Bellevue, Interlake and Newport High Schools
and in community settings and the ASPEN team earned thousands of
dollars in the fall for Life Long AIDS Alliance AIDS awareness and
prevention. They also delivered meals and were recognized by the
World Affairs Council as a model program for HIV prevention
education, and are now partners with the US Department of Health and
Human Services HIV prevention team.
CISCO students, many of whom are graduates, accompanied two
teachers to Antigua where they donated 250 computers and built
computer labs in schools without computers.
