Management, News Release
 Dow AgroSciences temporarily suspended spinosyn
insecticides (8/12/08)
 Broward County and part of Palm Beach County
 Western flower thrips has developed resistance to the
active ingredient spinosad
 Resistance caused by long growing season and rapid
reproductive cycle of thrips
 Suspension necessary to preserve this important
family of insecticides
 Cooperative education program on IPM, including
proper insecticide rotation

Identification
feed on higher plants occur
mostly in the Family Thripidae.

This family includes the important
pest species.
