Anorexia Nervosa
Anorexia nervosa is a type of eating disorder.
 People who have anorexia, have an intense
fear of gaining weight. They severely limit the
amount of food they eat and can become
dangerously thin.
 Anorexia affects both the body and the mind. It
may start as dieting, but it gets out of control.
Other people say you are too thin, but when
you look in the mirror, you see a fat person.
Famous people with anorexia nervosa :
Lady Gaga
Demi Lovato
Victoria Beckam
Jane Fonda
Mary Kate Olsen
Felicity Huffman
Katherrine Jenkins
Alegra Versace (Daughter of Donatella
Versace)
Bulimia Nervosa
 Bulimia nervosa is an eating disorder
which has to do about consuming a large
amount of food in a short amount of time
followed by an attempt to rid oneself of the
food consumed.
 Bulimia nervosa is considered to be less life
threatening than anorexia however, the
occurrence of bulimia nervosa is higher.
 This eating disorder is nine times more
likely to occur in women than men.

Its Disastrous Consequences
Consequences
The brain and the heart
Depression and sleep disturbance are
associated with obesity. Both these
conditions pose tremendous risks for other
health related illnesses and quality of life.
 Fatty plaque build-up in the blood vessels
can result in increased blood pressure and
overload the heart. Obese children are at
higher risk for heart attacks

The liver

Excess body fat can be deposited inside
the liver cells, trigger inflammation and
damage the liver cells. This is a slow
process over time, but if started in
childhood can lead to liver failure.
Obesity camps

An obesity camp is a type of residential
program where people who are
overweight or obese go to lose weight
through exercise and lifestyle changes.
Weight loss camps typically provide
nutrition classes weekly and variety of
classes and activities designed for weight
loss!!!

based on a variety of colorful and full of
flavor foods. The secret of great Greek
food is the combination of readily available
and simple ingredients including many
herbs.
• The Greek diet also known as the
Mediterranean Diet, is an alternative way
of eating that has been adopted in the
United States. Food sources include fresh
fruits and vegetables as well as lean
meats. Following this diet helps heart
health weight management and satiety.


In the Greek diet a range of cheeses,
tomatoes, olives, bread and a lot of
legumes are used. All of these are cooked
in a simple but delicious manner using
plenty of olive oil, very little butter, not
much salt and no fresh cream at all!!!
The result is unique!
