ISO Infrastructure Overview
• The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a
worldwide federation of national standards bodies. The work
of preparing international standards is usually carried out
through ISO technical committees.
• The United States is a member of ISO through the American
National Standards Institute (ANSI), whose mission is to
enhance the global competitiveness of US business by
promoting voluntary consensus standards.
• The American Oil Chemists Society (AOCS) is a member of
ANSI and acts as the administrator to the Animal Welfare WG
16.
