Multinational Mechanisms for Innovation: Strategy towards the
Global-Hemispheric-Regional System
Agricultural innovation depends on access to knowledge
Spillover benefits: technologies generated in other countries, regions or
continents, or in collaboration between scientists
IICA’s strategy will include collaborative mechanisms to facilitate knowledge
access and public good generation
Technical cooperation requires linkages, coordination and partnerships with
global institutions, organizations from the Americas that carry out research and
promote agricultural innovation
Main actors and mechanisms are GFAR, CGIAR, FORAGRO, FONTAGRO, Red
INNOVAGRO, GFRAS-RELASER, PROCI
