General Information
• Be at school at 00:15am on Friday 20th June
for 00:45am departure, top gate
• Get registered (each teacher will be
responsible for a group of pupils). Passports
Ready – in hand luggage
• Bring a pillow for the journey and wear
comfortable clothes
• You must wear a seat belt at all times on the
coach
• Stick to the travel rules on the ferry
• Have a packed breakfast and lunch

needs to be kept tidy
Itinerary 1 – Outward
journey
Friday 20th June
• Arrival at school (Top gate) at 00:15 for 00:45
• Brittany Ferry departs from Portsmouth at approx. 8.15
am
Arrival in Caen 14.00 (15.00 French Time)
• 6 hour Ferry – Bring something to do
Estimated arrival at Chateau of 5:30pm
• Tour of Chateau with guides
• Evening activities – team games.
Itinerary 2 – Château du
Tertre
Saturday 21st June
Ambrieres Boulangerie – Students to experience
Croissant Making
Preparez à Manger – Visit to a French market,
Practising French, Competition
Activities at Chateau (to be confirmed. Possibly Zip
Wire, Crepe Making or Campfire)
Visit to La Boulangerie
Students will watch how to make French Bread and then
have the opportunity to eat and make croissants
Le Marché
Students will be given the opportunity to practise
their French by purchasing something from the
market
Locals are used to meeting students from the Chateau
Additional points will be given for the purchase of any
bonus items, issued by teachers
Prèparez à manger
• Once students have returned from the market, with
their lunch ingredients, they will their prepare their
own cold lunch
• Meals are judged by teachers and Chateau staff for
presentation, value for money and nutritional value

All students will be issued with a French workbook
provided by PGL, received on arrival

Arrive back around 3:15 am
Accommodation
• The students will be choosing who they are sharing
a room with – single sex rooms of 4 students in
single or bunk beds. ALL BEDDING IS SUPPLIED.
• All of the dormitories have toilet and shower
facilities nearby, all rooms have sinks
• Teachers’ rooms adjacent to students’ rooms - to
ensure that the students get some sleep.
• Duty instructor per building (24 hours).
• A qualified First Aid trained member of staff is
on duty at all times.

• Will need English money for return Journey - £10
each way
• Students will be given Euros for the Market and at Le
Mont St. Michel
• Gift Shops/ Boulangerie/ Fougeres - €20 Max per day
Medical/dietary

• If please re-sign and date your child's form this
evening (9/6/14), making any relevant amendments
• If you are unable to sign tonight, please bring to
Mrs Lowe by Friday 13th June – room 40.

You must be on best behaviour at all times. You are
