ICES Version 1.5- Current Status
Application Primary Modules (Exports and Imports)-ICD Version- running at Pilot Site at Dadri and extended to adjacent 4 private ICDs at Dadri Group VII modules for imports under EP Schemes developed by NIC and under testing Service Centre Module for access through ICEGATE under development by NIC Air & Sea Version under development by NIC Message generation and integration is under development/ testing.
ICES Version 1.5- Rollout Plan
Pilot sites at Dadri would be provided access to Application to be hosted at Data Centre in January, 2009 After stabilization of operations (which may take1-2 months), new locations (ICDs) would be provided access to Application hosted at Data Centre Thereafter, new ACC locations would be provided access to Application (Air Version) hosted at Data Centre Thereafter, new Seaport locations would be provided access to Application (Sea Version) hosted at Data Centre Thereafter, new LCS locations would be provided access to Application (Land Version) hosted at Data Centre Existing ICES locations would be considered for migration to Data Centre only after successful migration of pilot/new site of respective version of Application at Data Centre
MESSAGE EXCHANGE WITH CUSTODIANS All Message specifications for ICES 1.5 have been finalized by NIC; Message specifications can be downloaded from the hyperlink “Message formats for ICES 1.5” on ICEGATE website: http://www.icegate.gov.in/ICES1.5.htm
Upgraded ICEGATE will have Multiple Message formats i.e.
proprietary Flat File, XML and UN-EDIFAC; XML schema for Port messages have already been developed in consultation with IPA; Document Tracking system on ICEGATE website; Trading partners/ Custodians can use MPLS, Leased line or Internet connectivity to send messages to data centre in New Delhi and disaster recovery site in Chennai; PricewaterhouseCoopers Date here Directorate General of Systems & Data Management

Brief – LAN Components
Thin Client
• Thin clients perform the same functionality as PCs except that there is no local storage • Used for accessing the applications hosted at the Data center
Scanners
• The scanning facility will be available in the LAN at the Utility Area in specified CBEC offices
Print servers
• Used for supporting the printing and scanning functions.
Printers
• DeskJet Printers • To be connected to a Thin client or redeployed PC. • Network Laser Printers • Shared by all LAN Users. • Will be placed in Utility areas , easily accessible for all LAN Users
Dot Matrix Line Printers

Brief – LAN Components
Power Backup UPS
•
• UPS with in-built redundancy -15 min back up.
• Provide interim power between mains power failure and DG set switching on.
Diesel Generator (DG) Set
• • The Diesel Generator (DG) set (or sets) will used for powering on the LAN equipment.
The ACs, Fans, lights and any other non LAN equipment not to be connected to the DG set.
