Advantages of
Interdisciplinary Support
and Contexts
Many sensitive issues lose their sensitivity when:
- they are contained within a broader context,
especially across various disciplines over
time and have curricular legitimacy
- they evolve naturally in a classroom
discussion or conversation
- the deliverer is known to the students and
is comfortable with and knowledgeable
about the subject
- the conversation or discussion is open
- any staff person is willing to listen
Recapping:




Use existing resources and staff within your
building to share responsibilities
Team-plan, team-teach. It could be that
many outcomes have already been covered
and a refresher in a new context is all that
is required
Use free on-line resources and not-for-profit
agencies
