• Why call for a medevac?
− Ground transportation will take too long.
− Conditions limit or prohibit the use of ground
transportation.
− Patient requires advanced care.
− Multiple patients will overwhelm a hospital.

• Should be a hard or a grassy level surface
• Should be cleared of loose debris

methods for accessing helicopters.
• Go only where the pilot and crew directs
you.
