Ariba Contract Management – What’s in 12s1
FEATURE
EXAMPLES
New Web Services Enhancements
 There is no way to notify a 3rd party system
that a contract has been published or created
in order to comply against the terms of the
contract.
DESCRIPTION
 This feature extends existing web services for the
Ariba Contract Management™ solution by allowing
you to automatically send contract header data when
a contract workspace is created or published. In
addition it provides enhanced error handling for
outbound web services.
 There is no way to retrieve the header fields in
a Contract via a Web Service such as who the
contract is with or the total amount. This will
allow companies to update 3rd party systems
with this information.
BENEFITS
 Customers can update 3rd Party systems with contract pricing information without having to
manually rekey information. This makes it easier to adopt the solution as it will help end users
save time and avoid mistakes.
 Ensures reliable delivery of outbound messages to 3rd Party systems.

Sustainable Supply Chains through Vested Trading
Partner Relationships


11
Long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships between buyers and suppliers are
increasingly being described as vested relationships, defined by a shared vision,
agreed-upon desired outcomes, transparency, trust, and win-win. Developing
such trading partner relationships pays dividends in many ways, particularly
when your goal is ensuring a sustainable supply chain. Join Tim Minahan, chief
marketing officer for Ariba, as he explores the concept with Kate Vitasek, author
of Vested Outsourcing, and Tim McBride, general manager for global finance
shared services at Microsoft. Mr. Minahan and his guests will engage with Ariba
customers who will talk about such investments at their companies, and the
impact they have on their comprehensive sustainability programs.

13s1 Under Consideration
Pass documents from Procurement Requests to
Procurement Workspaces
Contract Workspace Numbering Scheme - Ability to
control
This would be to add a feature to better control how documents added to, or modified during a request process can get copied
automatically to the Procurement Workspaces created from the request.
Currently Ariba Contract Management numbers all contracts with a unique, CW### numbering scheme. Some customers
have requested control over that numbering scheme. For example, being able to change the prefix (from CW to something
else), add a date component, or some more complex controls like numbering sub contracts and masters with a common
number.
Release Upstream Field Customization and dForm
This feature is to improve the UI and security around the customization framework and release it to customer administrators.
Builder to END USERS
This would mean that a properly trained person (not necessarily an Ariba employee) would be able to perform tasks like
adding fields and creating form templates.
Search scalability and performance
Provide Google-like response times to our searches
Ability to export/import workspaces as ZIP files, either This feature would allow you to export the entire contents of a given Contract Workspace (Documents, Tasks, History, Fields,
one at a time, or in batch. This is about getting your etc) into a ZIP file. This would serve as a way to export data out of the system for archival purposes, as well as a way to
data.
move individual contracts from one system to another.
As Contracts are extended to cover more and more complicated interactions, often there is a dizzying amount of data in them.
Executive "Summary Sheet" in Workspace
One challenge is that when executive users access the contracts, there isn't a good "one stop shop" summary for them to
quickly come up to speed. This feature would build a single, likely HTML document in the workspace which would be updated
automatically about any important changes or notes which any executive could use to come up to speed quickly. It will be well
formatted, and would be user definable as to which things are most important to display.
Approval Reporting
This feature would be to report on the individual approvers (or task participants) in Approval Tasks, Review Tasks, etc.
Improved Access Control in Analysis
Project/Contract Purge
Counter Party Collaboration
Mass Amend Agreements
Import and Compare/Counter Party Paper

Currently, in a report, the results are not filtered by access control. This feature would be to pass the access control for
workspaces to analysis, to be able to filter better, and refine the display of things based on who is viewing the report.
Set policies for when certain workspaces and associated data are hard deleted, example, All IT Procurement agreements
auto-delete 7 years after their expiration date.
Provide an easy and secure way for contract owners to send documents/contracts to counter parties such that counterparties
can view, download, and collaborate with the contract documents.
Particularly important in several industries including healthcare, biotechnology and Government Contracting. Example, a law
changes the provisions of a subset of customers' agreements. They need to not only find them, but automate the process of
Amending them.
Allow users a convenient and easy way to load and read 3rd party paper.
