Why are you here?
o Staff recently identified students that could
benefit from intervention.
o Short term measure in a rolling
programme
o Reviewed again following year 10 Interim
Review in October and January.
What intervention is there?
o Coursework support
Lessons during Immersion Days – 3
further days planned
LRC and subject staff available before and
after school
All students should be aiming to exceed
TMG in coursework
What intervention is there?
o Individual subject work
• Arranged on faculty level – close link
between home and school will lead to
greater chance of success
• Identified students to receive extra English
and Maths during PDC time
• After school sessions
What intervention is there?
o Learning Challenge programme
• All students invited to voluntary after
school sessions
• General support on study skills and
revision given to help across all subjects
• Voluntary sessions
• Certificate of attendance for ROA
What intervention is there?
o Adult Literacy and Numeracy (ALaN)
• Pass in both = equivalent to B grade at
GCSE
• Will be added to total A* - C passes
• Online, 50 minute test taken after school
• Can be taken any number of times
• Increase confidence in GCSE courses
Success Criteria?
o Completion of outstanding/current
coursework by Xmas 2009
o Improvement in teacher assessed grades
in Jan 2010
o Success in ALaN for first cohort
o Awareness of study skills
o Early entry in some Year 10 exams secure
C grade or more passes
