About Me!
 My name is Katacha Miller. I am a graduate of Prairie View
A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in
Interdisciplinary Studies (Early Childhood Education). I have
been teaching for 10 years. My hobbies include
Cajun/Zydeco dancing, shopping, and spending time with
friends/family. I am so blessed to be part of the Katy ISD
family.

 This lesson includes Problem Solving, Basic Facts, Skills and

Specials
 P.E. – we attend P.E. every Monday and Wednesday each
week. (students are required to wear tennis shoes)
 Art – we go to Art every Tuesday each week.
 Music- we go to Music every Thursday each week.
 Friday – the Special’s class will vary so it is best for students
to wear tennis shoes to school.

Lunch
 Time 12:58 – 1:28 (note lunch time will be different on
Early Dismissal Days)
 If you send lunch money to school for your child make sure
that it is in an envelope or plastic bag with your child’s name,
teacher’s name and grade level on it.
 You can pay online if you desire to.

 Snack Time is 11:00-11:10
(Dry foods such as chips, crackers, cereal,
or fruit is fine.)

Behavior
 Behavior is reported so that teachers, parents, and students
can all work together to provide a pleasant and safe learning
environment. Good behavior is expected and praised.
Behavior is recorded daily on the chart in the homework
folder. Please remember to initial your child’s folder each day
and return it to school daily.

ID Badges
 All students at Schmalz Elementary School are required to
wear an ID Badge at school. Students will be asked to wear
their badges home but are expected to return with them on
the following day. First graders will be given a verbal
warning the first time the ID Badge is not worn to school. If
their ID badge is not returned the next day your child will
receive a conduct mark.

Tuesday Folders
 This blue folder will come home every Tuesday unless there is
a holiday on Monday or Wednesday of that week.

Spirit Day/PTA
 Students encouraged to wear their Schmalz Spirit Shirts
every Friday.You may purchase a shirt for your child from the
PTA.
