Jewish Heritage
Until the outbreak of World War II, Poland was an important Jewish cultural and spiritual centre. Warsaw’s Jewish population was
then about 400.000, which was almost one third of the city’s total, and the largest Jewish population after New York. The vast
majority of this strong Jewish community perished during the Holocaust. However, traces of the original Jewish community remain.
The tour includes: Jewish Cemetery, Nozyk Synagogue, Jewish Historical Institute, sites connected with the Ghetto Uprising
of 1943, the Memorial of the Heroes of the Warsaw Ghetto, the Judenrat Building, Anielewicz’s Bunker and the Umschlagplatz.

ŻELAZOWA WOLA – The Birthplace of F. Chopin
Leave Warsaw to reach the nearby Żelazowa Wola, a village on the Utrata river and visit a charming old
Polish manor, the birthplace of the composer F. Chopin. The house where Chopin was born is now a
museum surrounded by a large garden. The museum has been reconstructed in very modern style.
New, multifunctional buildings, that are located in the beautiful park, host multimedia halls, stores, café
and restaurants. Modern architecture, that is open to the park, harmonizes with landscape and at the
same time allows having a nice time even in case of a bad weather. Afterwards, continue to Brochów, a
typical Mazovian village with a Renaissance basilica, the place of Chopin’s parents wedding and the
baptism of F. Chopin.

Wilanów Palace Visit
The Polish Versailles. It is a wonderful baroque palace and a place of great beauty, both inside and outside. One will have
the opportunity to stroll through the beautiful garden and park.
Villa Nova was established in XVII and served as the royal summer residence of King Jan III Sobieski, the famous conqueror
of the Turks at the battle of Vienna in 1683. He was the most colorful person of the 17th Century Poland, a skilful army leader,
accomplished diplomat and author of beautiful love letters written to Marie Cassimere, his wife.

AUSCHWITZ – the largest of the Nazi concentration camps during World War II. It has been the largest ‘death’ factory in the
history of humanity and a silent witness to human tragedy. Auschwitz consisted of several units, including the largest one in
Brzezinka (Birkenau). Out of the millions of people brought there between 1940-1944, at the time of liberation of the Camp only
60 to 70 thousand utterly emaciated victims were alive.

WIELICZKA SALT MINE – the oldest salt mine in Europe, an impressive underground world of salt lakes, chambers, galleries and
the unique Salt Works Museum created by many generations of Polish miners. The underground tourist route passes through
galleries and chambers on three levels, with 17th and 19th century chapels and unique natural caves.
