MR Credit 2.1 & 2.2 Construction
Waste Management
Intent / Requirement
Divert construction and land cearance debris from landfill disposal. Redirect recovered
resources back to the manufacturing process. Redirect reusable materials to
appropriate sites
Credit Potential : 1 or 2 Points
Requirements: Recycle &/ or salvage of at least 50% (1 Pt) or 75% (2 Pt) of
construction demolition & packaging debris.
MR Credit 1.3 Building Reuse
Extend the lifecycle of existing building stock, conserve resources, retain
cultural resources, reduce waste & reduce environmental impact of new
buildings as they relate to material manufacturing & transport
Credit Potential : 1 Points
Maintain 100% of shell + 50% non shell (Interior walls & Ceiling System)
MR Credit 3.1 & 3.2 Resource
Reuse
Reuse building materials & products in order to reduce demand for virgin
materials & to reduce waste, thereby reducing impact associated with the
extraction & processing of Virgin Resources
LaGypTM Contribution
LaGyp gypsum board, Ceiling Panels, Ceiling Tiles & all
metal sections are 100% recyclable
Ceiling panels and Ceiling tiles are reused, thus
helping in conserving the precious resources
Ceiling panels and Ceiling tiles are reused, thus
helping in conserving the precious resources
Credit Potential : 1 or 2 Points
Requirements: Use salvaged, refurbished or reuse materials, products & furnishings
for at least 5% or 10%
MR Credit 4.1 & 4.2 Recycled
Content
Increased demand for building products that incorporate recycled content
materials, therefore reducing impacts resulting from extraction & processing of
new virgin materials
1. Post Consumer - Paper
2. Post Industrial – Gypsum
Credit Potential : 1 or 2 Points
Requirements: Use materials with recycled content such as the sum of post consumer
recycled content plus one half of the post industrial content constitutes at least 5%
(1Pt) or 10% (2Pt) of the total value of the materials in the project.
100% natural gypsum is used for manufacturing LaGyp
gypsum board. Approximately 95% of gypsum waste
generated during construction and demolition is recycled
in many areas.
Think of Green…
Think of LaGypTM
The face and back papers of LaGyp gypsum board are
typically 100% recycled (post-consumer and postindustrial). The use of recycled paper requires 27 to 44%
less energy than manufacturing paper from virgin wood.
GI suspension systems & partition frame can contain up
to 25% post-industrial and post-consumer recycled iron.
Suspension systems can be recycled.

Regional Materials – Less Environmental Impact
Credit
MR Credit 5.1 Regional Materials
LaGypTM Contribution
Intent / Requirement
Increased demand for building materials & products that are extracted &
manufactured within the region, thereby supporting the regional economy &
reducing the environmental impacts resulting from transportation
Lafarge Boral Gypsum India is having the
manufacturing facility in Kushkhera, Rajasthan. Our
plant is strategically located to cover the major
construction hubs of the Northern India within the
stipulated distance requirements. As the gypsum is
extracted, sourced & manufactured locally thus
optimizes the negative environmental impact related to
transportation.
Credit Potential : 1 Point
Requirements: Use a minimum of 20% of building materials & products that are
manufactured regionally within a radius of 800 Kms
MR Credit 5.2 Regional
Materials
Increased demand for building materials & products that are extracted &
manufactured within the region, thereby supporting the regional economy &
reducing the environmental impacts resulting from transportation
Credit Potential : 1 Point
Requirements: Of the regionally manufactured materials documented for MR
Credit 5.1, use a minimum of 50% of building materials & products that are
extracted, harvested or recovered ( as well as manufactured) within 800 Kms of
the project site.
The Manufacturing plant in India,
Kushkhera (Rajasthan) All the major north Indian
cities like (Delhi, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Indore, Bhopal,
Lucknow , Kanpur) come under 800 Kms
The majority of raw material used in the process is
Natural Gypsum which constitute over 90% of the
raw material used. Natural Gypsum is procured
from mines in Rajasthan (within 800Kms from
Kushkhera plant), Thus reducing the
environmental impact because of transportation.

EQ Credit 3.1 Construction IAQ
Management Plan (During
Construction)
Intent / Requirement
Prevent Indoor Air quality problems resulting from the construction / renovation
process in order to help sustain the comfort & wellbeing of construction workers &
building occupants
Credit Potential : 1 Point
EQ Credit 4.1 Low Emitting
Materials
Reduce the quantity of indoor air contaminants that are odorous or potentially
irritating and harmful to the comfort and well being of installers and building
occupants
Credit Potential : 1 Point
Requirements: All adhesives & sealants used on the interior of the building (defined as
inside of the weatherproofing system & applies on site) shall comply with the
requirements of the reference standard.
EQ Credit 4.2 Low Emitting
Materials
Reduce the quantity of indoor air contaminants that are odorous or potentially
irritating and harmful to the comfort and well being of installers and building
occupants.
Credit Potential : 1 Point
Requirements: paints and coatings used on the interior of the building defined
as inside of the weatherproofing system and applied onsite shall comply with the
requirements of the reference standard.
LaGypTM Contribution
Gypsum board is a dry trade compared to wet trade like
brick and mortar hence reduce dust during
construction/renovation. Gypsum boards being porous in
nature allows the buildings to breath and naturally keep
the inside air healthy
When LaGyp Gypsum boards are used to finish
interior walls, paint consumption is reduced as
absorption of paint is better
The Adhesive used in plaster boards is natural & eco
friendly.
Indoor air quality is dependent on a number of factors
including the level of toxic emissions from the
building materials & air circulation within the
building. Lafarge Boral Gypsum India products
consists largely of gypsum & recycled paper & does
not contain the toxics inherent to the other materials.
Being relatively porous it allows buildings to breathe
thus contributing to creation of a healthy internal
environment
VOC for drywall compounds are lower than 4 grams per
litre.

Reduction
Maximize water efficiency within buildings to reduce the burden on muncipal
water supply and waste water system
LaGyp Gypsum boards used in partition applications
are typically called "dry wall constructions", wherein
water usage is not there (100% water conservation
compared to a normal brick wall process)
Credit Potential : 1 Point
Requirements: Employ strategies that in aggregate use 20% less water than the
water use baseline calculated for the building (nor using irrigation)
LaGyp plaster board wall lining system replace sand,
cement in interior constructions and thus no water is
required.
