Denmark Roskilde University Poul Wolffsen Corporate Finance Chairman for WG1 - Bachelor EuroFaculty, first stage • One of the objectives: – Internationalising and updating the curriculum (at what now is called PSU) – That is, develop BAchelor/MAster structure in accordance with the Bologna principles • exchange the specialist (5 years integrated input oriented program) with BA/MA (4 + 2 years, two cycles, outputoriented program) • However, the project has three years, Bachelor four year. – We developed BA profiles, modules, courses with an eye on the new Master in Economics (at PSU) Bologna Declaration • Originally, 10 – 12 overarching objectives for EHEA. • Mobility of Labour on the “European Area” • National Qualifications – Transparent – Comparable – Interchangeable across borders • Requirements and Toolbox – Learning Outcomes (and modularisation) – Descriptors (knowledge, skills, competences) – ECTS Bachelor Qualifications in a certain field study • knowledge and understanding supported by advanced textbooks • apply knowledge and understanding with a professional approach to work or vocation, and problem solving competences • ability to gather and interpret relevant data • communicate information, ideas, problems and solutions to both specialist and non-specialist audiences • learning skills necessary to continue to undertake further study with a high degree of autonomy. I believe we really play in accordance with the Bologna Rules • Developed three BA profiles – AA, accounting and auditing – FC, finance and credit – IB, international business • Major-Minor • Expected Graduates – 2013: 40 – 2014: 61 – 2015: 203 (119 full time) • Mainly FC and AA A Bachelor • Should be/can be/is usually for a university program fuel, blood, backbone, money pump. • A good BA program attracts students and money – A necessary condition is that the program is developed well and described well; but it is not a sufficient conditions Future • Take the Temperature, and adjust • Mutual Academic Recognition and Exchange Students • More advanced textbooks • Upgrading students’ professional skills and competences – Case materials, Compendiums • Much more With an Eye on Master Program • At the present moment two Master programs are in play – The International Master (EuroFaculty Second Stage) – Master in Economics has Licence • To be developed in accordance with the Bologna principles • Worthwhile to consider more RF Master Programs; the faculty has more PhD programs than Master programs.
