Non-formal teacher training
•Annual series of seminars for teachers and trainers in adult
education and basic skills
•One-day seminars
•Free of charge
•Has been implemented at Vox since 2007
Non formal teacher training 2013 • Seminars in every county in Norway since 2013
• The Ministry has granted 20 million Norwegian
kroner (2,5 million Euros) during four years to
educate teachers to train adults in basic skills.
• Subjects: Adult education and basic skills
Learning resources - some examples
• Tools for mapping and certification (mathematics,
reading and writing, digital competence)
• Literacy profiles and portfolios
• InterAct model (Internet-based problem solving
role-plays)
• How to plan seminars for adults in basic skills
Formal teacher training
•30 credits (ECT)
•Part-time study
•Implemented from the autumn of 2009
•Are given in cooperation with Norwegian Universities and
University Colleges
•Based on description of competence levels
Content
• The students have to choose one of two basic
skills for their study:
- Literacy
- Digital competence
• The students also study adult learning
(integrated part)
