Applications Workshop
EDUCATION

EDUCATION SCOPE (p. ii)
Lola Jordan, Director of Community Impact, Education
Education Scope: (p. ii in application) Programs, services, supports, and
activities that prepare children and youth to be ready for, and maintain
success in school, ensuring that they have the social, emotional, and
intellectual tools to attain academic success.
United Way of Broward County believes learning begins at birth and continue
throughout life, and that we focus on and appreciate all aspects of academic
learning, from preschool through high school and beyond.
Families in high needs, at-risk communities are often unable to provide their
children with cultural arts and enrichment activities; these pursuits are vital in
teaching critical thinking, creativity and reflection and in helping children develop
a sense of the world outside of their impoverished surroundings.
