Eligibility:
 : For getting admission in any Engineering course you
have to give an entrance exam. IIT conducts J.E.E. (Joint
Entrance Exam) for admission. The eligibility for the
candidate seeking admission in IIT is as follows:
Candidate should have passed (10+2) or equivalent
qualifying examination and should have secured at least 60%
marks. Candidates who qualify for admission through IIT-JEE
can apply for admission to B.Tech. (Bachelor of Technology),
Dual Degree (Integrated Bachelor of Technology and Master
of Technology) and integrated M.Sc.

Scope:
 Engineering degree course has many specializations therefore
it entirely depends on the individual which stream he/she would
like to opt for. One can either specialize in Information
Technology, Mechanical or Civil Engineering. An engineer can
reach up to the level of manager if he shows grit and
determination irrespective of specialization. There are no hard and
fast rules regarding the area of specialization. All the
specializations are interlinked; an engineer can shift from one field
of engineering course to another. For example an IT sector
normally employs engineers from variety of disciplines.You can
also start your own business in your area of specialization but you
have to take risks which can fluctuate based on market conditions.

Remuneration:
 1. Civil Engineer: A bachelor degree in Civil Engineering
course can earn anywhere between 4000 to 7, 5000
approximately with 2 - 3 years of experience.
 2. Mechanical Engineer: Most of the Mechanical Engineers
receive 5,000 to 7,000 per month. Those with an additional
management degree in addition to engineering degree can
command salaries of 10,000 to 40,000 per month.
In the government sector, the salary scale for engineers starts
at 1,640 - 2,900 for Junior Engineers. The basic scale for
Assistant Engineers is 2,000 - 3,500.
Assistant Executive Engineers draw salaries in the range of 2,200
- 4,000.
Executive Engineers get 3,000 - 4,500, while Superintendent
Engineers receive salaries in the range of 4,000 - 6,000.

3. IT/ Computer Science Engineering: In the public sector companies, the starting salaries of
software engineers are 8000 to 12000. A good software engineer can hope to start with a salary
of around 20000 to 25000. Besides salary there are several other perks available to employees.
Remuneration of a Software Engineer may reach up to 50000 to 60000 depending upon
qualification and experience. Software programmers running their own consultancy firms may also
get handsome returns

4. Electronics: In India, a bachelor's degree holder in electronics engineering can receive a
starting salary of 7500 up to 15,000 approximately with 1-2 years experience.

5. Aeronautical Engineering: The approximate starting salaries in the government /public
sectors such as HAL, NAL are 8,000 to 10,000. In the private sector, the scales are decided by
the management of the company and are approximately 8,000 to 15,000 per month plus perks.
Engineering graduates with management degrees get a starting salary of 10,000 to 40,000 per
month plus perks.

6. Electrical Engineering: A Job in Electrical Engineering is good as far as the remuneration is
concerned. Candidates in this field can draw a minimum salary of 80,000 and a maximum 2.5
lakhs per annum. However, the pay scale is also influenced by the location of the job and the work
profile
