Q: What is “personal use” and how does it
differ from “home use” provisions for other
software?
A: “Personal use” in terms of the Microsoft
Employee Select program means that a
faculty or staff member may purchase the
software for private uses that are not
connected with Northwestern.

• Users must own a license for their office
computers to be eligible for home use.
• To request a home use kit:
– Send “order closed” e-mail notification from NUIT

– Include shipping address and specify Windows or

• Users must complete a home use agreement:

A: If you are reformatting a drive, you are
