LECTRO ENGINEERING
► The
Lectro-Treat technology has been
utilized to surface treat plastic parts for
over 50 years.
► Adapted the Lectro-Treat technology to
treat resins to enhance adhesion &
improve wettibility of all types.
RTS TECHNOLOGY
► RTS
= Resin Treatment System
► Patent Pending
► Continuous Process
► Surface Treatment lasts for 3+ years and
counting
RTS
TECHNOLOGY
THE RTS PROCESS:
► Adjustable
treatment levels / Continuous
process
► Quantifiable results
 Proven QC Methods relate to performance
► Successful
commercial testing
THE RTS PROCESS
(continued):
►
Significantly longer term effect as
compared to past technologies
 Surface properties not diminished 3 years
after treatment per current testing - once
you have modified the surface, you will not
lose it!
 Not effected by sunlight

Operator Control HMI
The main operator human machine interface (HMI) screen is located on the main
electrical panel. This is a multi million color High Definition touch screen that
provides a full compliment of controls and monitoring of the RTS process.

Powder Resin Hopper
►
The powder hopper is made from stainless steel
for long life and easy cleaning for color
changes.
►
The vacuum loader shown is not included, but
is available off the shelf from many vendors.
►
The hopper is coupled to the inner glass
treating tube with silicone seals for long life and
easy cleaning for color changes.
►
All of the gas mixture controls are located on
the operator side at bottom of the hopper main
frame.
This shows the silicone
wrap and band clamp
seal between the glass
tube and stainless steel
hopper. Silicone has a
very long life in the
treating environment.
The auger is powered by a VFD
controlled AC high efficiency motor.
The system is geared to provide a
very slow rpm of the auger while
maintaining mid frequency of the AC
motor. This is designed for easy
disconnect when removing the auger
for color changes.
Treated Resin
Discharge
The treated powder resin
discharges into customer
supplied roller totes or can be
setup to discharge directly
into Gaylords.
Easy access for quick change
of resin containers.
Covers are clear for easy
viewing of the process.
Auger Shots With & Without High
Voltage Discharge
This shows the auger running
through the 12” glass tube inside
the High Voltage Discharge area.
This shows the discharge inside
the glass tube before powdered
resin has been augered into the
High Voltage Discharge area.
Auger Changeover
The drive end of the auger is very
easy to disconnect. The chain
and tension come off and are out
of the way for removal of the
auger. The hopper end plate is
split and slotted for quick release
removal through the resin hopper.
The discharge end of the auger is
easily accessed as well. Pull off
the “Discharge Tee” and the
screw is readily available to be
pulled out. The augers are very
strong, but are made from light
weight materials for easy
handling by just two people.
About Lectro Engineering
Since 1960 Lectro Engineering has been providing 3D
Plastic Surface Treatment Systems for companies
worldwide. In 2001 the company grew with the acquisition
of MTM Systems giving customers a one stop shop for
downstream blow molded equipment including Spin
Trimmers, Impact Deflashers, Demoilers, ID/OD Reamers,
and Takeaway Machines. Lectro also purchased
Automation Technologies Incorporated (ATI) in 2001. The
ATI division provides Custom Production Automation for
Manual, Semi-Automatic, and Turnkey Automated Systems
for a variety of industries. Lectro has representatives
worldwide providing solutions for the plastics industry.
