Serial 232 Hardware
• The serial 232 comms interface requires a
shielded cable with DB-9 male connector

Serial Cable Hook-up
• The serial 232 cable terminals are
connected to the controller module. Black
wire to term. #5, clear wire to term. #6 and
dark gray wire to term. #7

DB-9 connector
• The DB-9 connector is attached to the
inside rear panel of RC900 chassis with
special hex headed screws

RC900 Serial Software Set-up
• Navigate to the COM page of the Set-up
menu

Baud Rate
• Make sure the baud rate is set to 9600

Data Bits & Parity
• Make sure that the data bits are set to 8
and the parity is set to none (n)

Protocol
• Make sure the protocol is set to Xon/Xoff
(on)

Interface Type
• Make sure that the interface type is set to

Test the interface
• Use the free utility program COMM7 to
test the serial 232 interface

• Make sure COMM7 Xon/Xoff protocol is
selected
