State-Wide Energy Audits
• Over 13,800 locations have been audited so far
• Results reveal that:
– Just under 10% of the power demanded by
Lagosians is being met by the national grid
– A total of over 17,000 generators; implying that
every location has at least 1 generator
– A total of approximately 162,000 litres of diesel
is being consumed a day resulting in 178lbs of
CO2 emitted per household per day
– On average, Lagosians power themselves at a
cost of N44/kWh; almost 4 times the cost of
supply from the grid
28
Lagos Energy Locator
One of the goals of the state-wide energy
audit program is to audit all state-owned
facilities and identify all locations with on a
mapping tool.
