Wednesday, February 4th at 7:00pm
Fairfield Ludlowe High School Open House for incoming ninth graders and
their parent/guardian (STUDENTS MUST ATTEND WITH A
PARENT/GUARDIAN)
Tuesday, February 10thth during homerooms
High school guidance counselors will be visiting homerooms to answer any
questions you may have…come prepared with your questions!!!
Thursday, February 19th – Thursday, February 26th
Students select electives in Infinite Campus
Monday, March 9th
All 9th Grade Course Request Verification forms are due. Homeroom
teachers will collect them.

Absences
o Important to pay attention to absences and tardiness.
o Begin to familiarize yourself with the policy.
Transcript
o What is a transcript? Why do you think it would be important?
o Day one you begin to create this document that will be used for your postsecondary plans. (i.e. colleges).
Program of Studies
Review Program of Studies booklet carefully
o Understand prerequisites for courses.
o Select courses carefully based on interest.

Choice of subjects is one of the most important decisions a student makes in
high school.
All general education classes are grouped by ability levels of student. This
grouping is based on
o Past performance
o Teacher recommendation
o Counselor recommendation
o Test scores
The elective subjects especially should be chosen to fit
o Abilities
o Interests
o Future plans

Electives Selection
• Course Registration Packet will be received during
homeroom.
• Review 9th Grade Electives Worksheet Example
• Select four credits in electives and prioritize by numbering 1
as first choice, 2 as second, etc.
• Full Year Elective Course – 2.0 credits
• One Semester Elective Course – 1.0 credit
• Select at least two Alternate Electives
• Enter selections on Infinite Campus with your parents or
guardians

o Distributed by your homeroom teachers the first week in March.
House Assignment
o Write down older sibling and their house.
Signatures
o Parent & Student must sign before handing in to School Counselor.
o Parent should include email address.
Attending a School other than FLHS
o Important for your parents to let us know if you will be attending another
school.
o High School Course Request Verification form– Still must be handed
in.
Weekly Schedule
Block Schedule
o 4 periods a day, plus homeroom
o Classes meet every other day
o Most periods one hour twenty five minutes
Homeroom
o Same teacher all four years
o 7 minutes long, starts at 10:30 on most days
Activity Period
o Once per week
o All clubs and activities meet during this period
