DACNET- An e-Governance Project

This is an e-governance project of Department of Agriculture and cooperation, being executed by National Informatics centre to facilitate Agriculture-on-line. DACNET is conceived and designed to address the following issues  Qualitative enhancements in the work culture by introducing better transparency and work flow automation  Streamlining the existing methods and practices, both administrative and technical aspects  Easy access to the publishable information with minimum administrative intervention, with proper Query and Request features

DACNET- An e-Governance Project

 Faster and reliable information dissemination and exchange across the Ministry and their Directorates and field units  Greater integration and use of data from variety of data sources  Optimum utilization of available recourses including office stationary and there by helping to inch towards the paper-less  office Internet-to-Internet capability to provide Tele-commuting  features and thus providing geography-independent working Better Communication among the officers of the organization using E-mail/ messaging to enhance better coordination, knowledge sharing and research

Scope of DACNET

• Establishing e-business Infrastructure • Achieving the minimum agenda of e-governance • Developing e-governance application package • Integration of Government functions • Enhancing Government productivity • Decision support for planners • IT empowerment of the officials of the Directorates/Attached/Subordinate and the field unit • Users in e-governance which would eventually facilitate agriculture-on-line

Difficulties Faced

• The only aberration during the training was the difficulty faced in obtaining nomination • The heads of the certain departments were not willing to send their employees despite the participant’s desire to attend the training

Proposed Scheme for more effectiveness

• A refresher module which covers all the topics in brief should be conducted after the end of all the modules for all the participants
