Monday – April 9, 2012 – Kick-Off Event 11:30AM
Ribbon Cutting – Dutch Valley View, 4206-4211 Red Valley Way (off Dutch Valley
Rd.), Knoxville, TN 37918
Built by Knox Housing Partnership using NSP and HOME funds, this is a new 6 unit
affordable rental development that is LEED Gold Certified.
Tuesday – April 10, 2012 – Public Hearing 6:00PM
Public Hearing on the Annual Action Plan and Substantial Amendment – Cansler
YMCA, 616 Jessamine St, Knoxville, TN 37917
This public hearing is an opportunity for citizens to comment on the Annual Action
Plan for the use of HUD federal funds.
Wednesday – April 11, 2012 – Bus Tour 8:30AM-11:00AM
Austin-East High School Activities 1:00PM and 2:30PM
Community Development Projects Tour begins at Three Rivers Market, 1100
Central Ave, at 8:30AM with light refreshments. The bus will load at 8:55 with tour
beginning at 9AM. Tour will end at 11:00AM back at Three Rivers Market.
Activities at Austin-East High School
1:00 p.m. - The Banking & Finance class and Future Business Leaders of America
Club will highlight personal financial planning and savings with a lecture from Mike
Butler, Regional President of SunTrust Bank.
2:30 p.m. - Project GRAD will hold a seminar for AE seniors. Three past scholars (AE
graduates) who have now graduated from college and working in their chosen
professions will discuss their Project GRAD experience in high school, during college
and the impact of academic excellence.
Thursday – April 12, 2012 – Community Development Fair 4:00PM-7:00PM.
Community Fair at the Green Space adjacent to Ashley Nicole Playground, Winona
Ave, Knoxville, TN 37917. This will be an informational and fun event for citizens to
come learn about programs offered by CD and our subrecipient partners as well as
other programs. The fair will feature children’s activities, food, and learning
opportunities for all. (Rain location – Cansler YMCA)
