Exemption of market fee An amount of Rs.63.74 crores is being collected as Market Fee
on Fruits and Vegetables per year by the 44 important fruit and vegetable markets of A.P.
reform not concerned These market committees incur expenditure towards the
with Model Act, 2003
administrative cost and infrastructure around Rs. 28.44 crores
per year and Rs. 27.78 crores per year respectively. Complete
waiver of market fee on perishables would affect the resource
mobilization of AMC and prevent them to create infrastructure
required in the markets of fruits and vegetables.
