The Mission of the Multicultural Resource Center
at Binghamton University is to educate the
campus community through initiatives designed
to increase awareness and understanding of
cultural diversity, its significance in the
advancement of all fields of endeavor and in
navigating our world.

The MRC provides diversity training and education for the
university staff and students using the Building Bridges to
Cultural Competency Program. Training sessions are
offered for staff four times annually. Student trainings
target student leaders and staff on campus such as
Orientation advisors, residential assistants, and new
students.

The MRC facilitates programs that fall under four primary
programmatic initiatives: (1) student recruitment, (2)
student retention, (3) educational development and (4)
inclusive community building.

The MRC is a resource center in that we directly provide
funds to cultural student organizations on campus seeking
to provide programs that are educational, culturally
inclusive and encourage diversity within the university
community.
Culture Connects is a monthly newsletter published by the
Multicultural Resources Center that allows Binghamton University
students, faculty, and staff to stay up to date on past and upcoming
campus-wide events and programs.
