WHY INQUIRY-BASED INSTRUCTION?
• Students need to do and experience the
world around them as an integral part of
learning
• A successful 21st century learner must be
able to think critically, communicate ideas
effectively, and collaborate with others
• And honestly… our societal needs have
vastly changed! A “learned person” was
one time considered to be someone with a
memorized set of discrete facts and could
perform basic skills.
