History of NIR-Online
• February 2003: Joint Network Rail and ATOC
submission to change GE/RT8250 to mandate a
web-based system.
• May 2004: Formation of NIR User Group.
• July 2005: RSSB grant authority to proceed.
• August 2005: Software Development contract
awarded to Interfleet Technology Ltd.
• September 2005 - Ongoing: Software development.
• Sunday 26th February 2006: NIR-Online launch.

How Does It Affect Me?
• No changes to the NIR process (just the method),
however GE/RT8250 (not 3350) will be updated to
reflect the implementation of NIR-Online.
• We know who formally receives NIRs from the NCC
and we have already contacted them.
• We have already asked each company to tell us
which NIRs are closed (for your company).
• We need to know who else needs access…
