PARENTS CODE OF CONDUCT •Remain in the spectator area during competitions. •Let coaches coach. •Keep comments positive to players, parents, officials & coaches of either team. •Come to games sober & refrain from drinking alcohol at contests. •Cheer for your team. •Show interest, enthusiasm & support your child. •Be in control of your emotions. •Help when you’re asked to be a coach or an official. •Thank the coaches, officials & other volunteers who conducted the event. •The YMCA, founded on Christian principles, prohibits behavior which is inappropriate, such as profanity, abusive language or behavior, smoking and the consumption of alcohol, removal of any YMCA property, or criminal misconduct. HELPING YOUR CHILD ENJOY THE SPORT • Developing a winning perspective • Building your child’s self-esteem • Emphasizing fun, skill development & striving to win • Helping your child set performance goals Facility Use Policy We ask that parents/ teams assist with the upkeep of the facility while in use. The Y is a non-smoking facility. This includes the fields, buildings exits/entrances and parking lots. To help teach responsibility, have your team help clean up after the game. Practice/Game Information Practice • Begins the week of November 11th (NFL Flag Football on YMCA fields) (Basketball PK3-2nd grade @ YMCA Gymnasium) (Basketball 3rd – 10th grade @Labay Middle School) • Rainouts will be determined by 4:00 pm if needed you can contact your coach or visit www.quickscores.com/langhamcreekymca Games • Begin Saturday November 23rd • Last Game January 25th • Schedules will be available November 18th • www.quickscores.com/langhamcreekymca EQUIPMENT/UNIFORMS Required Equipment Football – Mouth piece/Tennis shoes or soft spikes Basketball-Tennis Shoes (for practice and games) Uniforms Every player will receive a team jersey Uniform pickup Handed out during practices November 11-15 Coach will receive all their team’s uniforms at practice. Please have your child try it on immediately. Volunteering • Volunteers make our program successful • Each team should have the following: Head Coach/Asst. Coach/Team Parent • ALL Head and Asst. Coaches must fill out a volunteer application each season. Pictures, Trophies & Team Party • PicturesWill be taken at your game location-December 7th – N-the-Zone –nthezonephotos.com – 1 coach plaque given to each team • Trophies/Medalsall players receive a trophy from the YMCA Important Dates • PRACTICES - Begin week of November 11th • UNIFORM PICK-UP – Handed out at first practice • FIRST GAME – November 23rd • Game Schedule – November 18th • PICTURE DAY – December 7th • LAST GAME – January 25th Make up games if needed – January 20-24 Welcome Center Service • Your first stop for questions- www.quickscores.com/langhamcreekymca (281)859-6143 • Coach contact info, schedules, rainout information • They will determine if the question needs to be forwarded to Adam – EMAIL IS BEST WAY TO REACH ME!!! • Goal is to get you quick & correct answers! How to handle corrections (practice night change, etc.) •Majority of corrections are related to the practice day/time •We will still be looking for coaches for many teams after first draft of rosters are released •Rosters can not be released to Coaches until Background check is completed and cleared. •Requests are not guaranteed however, every effort is made to accommodate. As a team Before you leave, please do the following: -- Check over master roster to ensure your contact information is correct! --Volunteer to be a Head Coach, Assistant Coach & Team Parent if needed --Confirm practice day/time location --Coach and/or team parent – contact those on your roster who were not at the meeting within 1 week!
