About the TOEFL® test
• Paper-based test administered since 1963-64
• Internet-based test rolled out gradually around the world from
September 2005-September 2006 (at present 96% of all TOEFL®
testing is iBT)
• TOEFL iBT® is offered 30 to 40 times a year, and is administered
online via computer in 165 countries.
• Covers all four language skills: Reading, Listening, Speaking,
Writing
• Has a reliability coefficient of 0.95
