IBM® System Storage™
DS4200 Host-Side Connectivity
 Four 4 Gbps FC ports for host or SAN connections
 Each host port is capable of delivering up to 400 MB/s
 Auto-negotiate to 1, 2, and 4 Gbps speeds
 Seamless addition to current infrastructure that’s “4 Gbps ready”
Direct host connections
Fabric SAN connections
I/O paths to each controller should be established for full redundancy and failover protection

IBM® System Storage™
DS4200 Drive-Side Connectivity
 Four 4 Gbps drive loops support 112 drives
 Each drive port is capable of delivering up to 400 MB/s
 When attaching enclosures, drive loops are
configured as redundant pairs utilizing one port
from each controller and “top-down / bottom-up”
cabling. This helps ensure data access in the
event of a path/loop or controller failure.
