The flu is spread by
uncovered coughing
and sneezing, and not
washing hands after
touching things.

spread germs
1 day before
feeling sick to
7 days after
being sick.

the flu before you

You may have …
•high
fever
•headache
•dry cough
•sore throat
•runny or stuffy nose
•muscle aches
•nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea
•or be very tired.

What should I do if I
think I have the Flu?
•Rest
and get plenty of sleep
•Drink
plenty of liquids
•Always
cover your mouth
when coughing or sneezing
•Take
all the medicine your parent
or doctor gives you.

How do I keep from
getting the Flu?
•Don’t
share forks, spoons, knives,
drinking glasses, pencils, or other
things
•Don’t rub your eyes or touch
your nose, or mouth
•Exercise and eat well.
