WHAT OUR STUDENTS SAY


“The MAAP programme has broadened my horizons and
equipped me with the professional knowledge and skills to
pioneer the set-up of a psychological support unit at a
premier boarding school in Singapore. This has not only
facilitated my growth as an education professional, more
significantly, it has made a positive difference to the many
local and international boarding students as well as staff
under my care.
My heartfelt thanks to my wonderful lecturers and fellow
classmates who have been most supportive and generous in
sharing their experiences and advice, all of which has
convinced me that my journey was not made alone. Despite
the hard work, I have thoroughly enjoyed my course at
NIE.”

MAAP Award Gold Medalist, 2006
WHAT OUR STUDENTS SAY

“The MAAP Programme has given me good grounding in
theoretical knowledge of counselling theories. The
practicum experience was invaluable from lessons gained
from clients and from insights gathered from practicum
supervisors. I become more aware of myself as a counsellor.
I learned that one of the most challenging skills to master
was to ask the right questions at the right time and to be
comfortable with silence. I learned to conceptualise a case
and to design and implement treatment plans. On the
whole, there was a good balance between the academic
demands of the MAAP programme and practical
experience. The MAAP Programme taught me that one
should never stop learning...there is so much more to learn,
to research and to understand.”
