Norfolk LPC and PCT develop bid for a Healthy Living
Pharmacy Program led by PCT and supported by LPC

15 Pharmacies apply to become Healthy Living
Pharmacies and receive training,

Norfolk - 7 Healthy Living Pharmacies achieve
accreditation. Norfolk LPC put in bid for funding to be
led by LPC.
2011 Yarmouth – 4 Pharmacies take part in National
August 2013 Pathfinder, 7 others are accepted for HLP training.
August 2013 - Now
Yarmouth and Norfolk HLP projects merge and
funding is received to continue support existing HLP
and develop a further 15 HLP sites.

• Kings Lynn (1x ward)

status on contractors, employees and the public showed that the
effect on income, prescription volume, demand for services,
motivation and productivity of staff was positive for all types of
contractor; and implementation of the HLP concept was seen as
worthwhile for the business by over 70% of contractors.
Over 90% of contractors saw benefits for staff development.”

Recognition by commissioners of Public Health services was also
highlighted in the report and the program is very highly regarded by
Public Health Norfolk.

• Engage in Public Health campaigns and ensure a
broad range of up to date resources are available

or help they may require. Keep the offer open.
• Ensure all members of staff recognise and understand
the Healthy Living Pharmacy concept and are willing to
support your Health Champion.
• Recognise members of your team who may be able to
take on extra responsibility in helping to build a
portfolio of evidence or lead on a service
• Develop your own leadership skills as part of your
ongoing CPD requirements.
