Educational Program

ia.cmm Educational Program is essentially based on articles which
are being published in our web site http://www.iacmm.org/ and are
available to any one who wishes to learn, with method, about CMM’s
Technology. 4 articles have been issued since the beginning of 2005
and specifically:




25/02/2005
Article nr. 1: “Use and scopes of the Co-ordinate
Measuring Machine”.
Article nr. 2 – 1st Part: "The fundamental elements
of the Co-ordinate Measuring Machine“.
Article nr. 2 – 2nd Part: “Data Handling and
Control System“.
Article nr. 3: “Revision of CMM performance
specifications “.

ia.cmm Common Specifications


The ia.cmm Common Specifications have been launched at
CONTROL 2005 by our Associates to allow Users a better
comparison between Co-ordinate Measuring Machines.
From now on the Members of ia.cmm will publish their CMM
specifications, on the relevant literature, in a form that:




Will include a set of MUST data declared accordingly to the most
updated International Standards and immediately comparable
regardless of the CMM brand.
May include a set of CAN data declared accordingly to the most
updated International Standards which will be decided by the specific
Manufacturer, to allow a deeper knowledge about its CMM
performance.
It will be therefore more difficult, if not impossible, to declare
meaningless figures and it will be much easier for our End User to
be able to compare potatoes with potatoes.
A guarantee of professionalism and knowledge brought together by
ia.cmm Member Companies.

ia.cmm international relationship

ia.cmm is trying to establish international relationships with other
Organisations and Scientific Communities, operating in the area of
Dimensional Metrology.

In this perspective ia.cmm has co-operated with AIAG and NIST
(USA), to promote I++ / DME interoperability. ia.cmm will continue in
its co-operations for a better diffusion of International Standards in
Co-ordinate Measuring Equipment.
