Background
• Following on from NCSI, NHS England, in partnership
with Macmillan Cancer Support established the Living
with and Beyond Cancer Programme
• A 2 year programme of work to embed the four priority
areas from NCSI into commissioning
• This will be delivered by a Programme Manager and
Programme Officer, funded by Macmillan Cancer
Support and seconded to NHS England

Aims and Objectives
• To support Strategic Clinical Networks (SCNs),
Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) and Clinical
Reference Groups (CRGs) to embed the 4 priorities
from the NCSI into commissioning cancer services.
• This will involve putting in place detailed process
guidance and activities to allow informed decisions on
commissioning to be made.
• The Living With and Beyond Cancer Programme will
work closely with the NHSE LTC/ EoLC, Older People
and IARS Programmes

Objectives
• Identify policy levers e.g. LTC/House of Care
• Assess commissioning maturity of SCNs and CCGs
• Support SCNs, CCGs and CRGs with commissioning
’products’
• Stakeholder understanding
• Identify any further research to build case for change
• Interpret the results from PROMS and CPES
