Test Information Distribution Engine (TIDE)
TIDE OVERVIEW
13
CBT/PBT
• TIDE is used to:
–Manage user accounts
–View/manage student data
–Manage orders for paper test materials
–Print On-Demand student ID labels
14
CBT/PBT
Student Information is Accessed
through SAIS/STCC for TIDE.
AzMERIT for Grades 3 – 8
– Students are pulled directly from Student
Accountability Information System-SAIS
AzMERIT End of Course Tests
– Students are pulled directly from Student
Teacher Course Connection-STCC
15
CBT/PBT
If a particular student’s
data is missing in TIDE, it
must be entered in by the
Instructional Coach.
16
Missing Students must be manually enrolled in
TIDE
– Additional students manually added will need have to have
a “print-on demand label” (in TIDE) which can be printed
on the extra labels that are sent in your shipment.
-- Instructional Coaches will print
these labels for any
new students.

Algebra II are enrolled in TIDE to take the EOC test for that
subject area.
- Add any students who are not in TIDE but should be.
-Print out Pre-ID Labels for students as needed.
33
Test Preparation for Students and Parents
• It is very important to communicate a positive attitude
about testing.
• Send home positive messages in the Quill, on Facebook,
grade level newsletters, teacher websites, etc.
• Remind parents to ensure their children eat breakfast
every day and get enough sleep the night before.
• Stress the importance of avoiding checking out their
children from school early on testing days.
• Message that Parent Volunteers are to be scheduled
outside of the testing rooms on testing days.
34
PBT TEST ADMINISTRATION
35
All Test Administrators must be employees of
the school/district/charter. All staff at
schools must sign a test security agreement.
• All Test Administrators will follow Testing
Administration Directions exactly as stated
in documents.
• Test Administrators will receive/verify
testing materials received.
36
• Test Administrators will distribute/collect
all testing materials on testing days.
• Test Administrators will complete the
accommodation information on the testing
booklets for all of the students receiving
accommodations.
• Test Administrators will return all testing
materials to the School Testing
Coordinator.
37
Test Administrators will ensure that any
visual aids displayed in the testing room
that could assist students while testing
are removed or
covered
completely
during testing.
38
Testing Administrators must• supervise the room at all times during
testing.
• Answer student questions pertaining
only to the clarification of directions.
• Verify students are marking their
answers in the proper locations in
their testing materials.
39
Students who disrupt testing, refuse to
participate, receive help from others or
engage in any other unacceptable behavior,
should be subject to the disciplinary
procedures established by the school.
These students should be
allowed to continue testing
in another location.
40
Students who leave the
Classroom during testing…
• Must have their test materials
collected upon exit.
• Must have their test materials
given back to them when they
return.
• May only leave one-at-a-time.
41
Students who leave campus
during testing…
• Must have their test materials collected upon exit.
• Are not allowed to finish that testing session when
they return.
42
Students are not allowed to use electronic
devices during testing (with the exception of approved
calculators for 7-8, pt. 1 math and EOC testers).
Personal electronic devices are prohibited. Remove
unacceptable device if observed. Allow testing to continue,
but report it to the District Assessment Coordinator.
43
PBT
NEW
Each school must maintain a copy of
the test administrator’s list of students
for each classroom for the AzMERIT.
–For security purposes this list must be
maintained with security agreements
44
PBT
PBT
Each student will
receive at least two
Pre-ID labels for the
AzMERIT, one for their
Math test booklet and
one for their ELA test
booklet. There will be
no separate answer
documents, as students
will write their answers
directly in their test
booklets for all grades.
Any Students taking the End of
Course Test for Algebra I,
Geometry or Algebra II, will
also receive a Pre-ID Label for
that test, as well.
47
PBT TESTING
ACCOMMODATIONS GUIDANCE
48
AzMERIT TESTING CONDITIONS,
TOOLS, AND ACCOMMODATIONS
GUIDANCE FOR SPRING 2015
All Test Administrators should be
familiar with this document prior to
testing. These were emailed to you &
are on the M Drive.
http://azmeritportal.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/AzMERIT-TestingAccommodations-2015_rev-Feb-2015.pdf
49
Assistant Principals:
Ensure that all teachers/staff who
are administering tests, are fully
informed about the requirements
in the Accommodations Guidance
document for Spring 2015.
Also, plan on where teachers/staff
will be conducting testing for
special needs/ELL
students/students making up tests,
prior to the testing dates.
50
Packing and Returning Test Materials
MATERIALS RETURN
PBT
• AzMERIT testing materials are returned to
Measurement Incorporated.
– You will need to collect and inventory all scorable and nonscorable materials, stacking them by grade level for
inventory.
– We (the District Testing Administrator & the AP) will work
together to follow the packing and return shipment
instructions in the Test Coordinator Manual.
52
PBT

AIMS
SCIENCE
TESTING
54
WHO TAKES IT?
The AIMS Science test, Part 1 & 2,
is currently administered to Grades Four
and Eight only.
WHEN?
This test will be administered on
Monday, April 20, 2015. It should take
about two hours.
55
Pre-ID Labels for AIMS
Science
Pre-ID Labels should be provided by Pearson for
students who were enrolled in Semester One.
They are to be affixed to the front of the AIMS
Answer Document.
If you are missing Pre-ID labels or if the Pre-ID
labels are incorrect, the School Test Coordinator
or adult designee is to bubble in the correct
information on the Demographic Data Grid on
the back of the Answer Document.
DO NOT DO BOTH
56
All of the same testing security and
precautions will be taken with the AIMS
Science test as with the AzMERIT, except
there will be no student data in TIDE to
manage.
There is a separate set of Testing
Accommodations, however for the AIMS
Science Test, which was emailed to you and is
available on the M Drive and all Testing
Administrators need to be aware of these
accommodations, as well.
57
AIMS SCIENCE MATERIALS
RETURN
58
AIMS Science Materials are packaged
separately from the AzMERIT (in Pearson
boxes) and require cover sheets as well as
paper bands around the answer documents.
59
Instructions for the
preparation for the return
of AIMS Science testing
materials, are in the Test
Coordinator’s Manual
starting on page 16.
It is important not paper band bundles or to seal
boxes prior to the District Test Coordinator coming
to inventory your testing documents.
However, having all header sheets and AIMS School
Header Lists completed prior to the District
Coordinator coming on your campus, will save a
great deal of time during packing.
