Concluding Remarks
We have covered a long way to become accepted by the
international mathematical community. Our institute has a
new structure and quality. Much credit must go to
directorship.
Of special note is the excellent job done by academician
Valentin Pavlovich Dymnikov during his 10-year tenure as
the director: he managed to enhance the progress of
science, refine the personnel, and make a substantial
upgrade of computer facilities in the institute. We are very
thankful to Valentin Pavlovich for his dynamic and fruitful
activities.
In June, 2010, Evgeny Evgenievich Tyrtyshnikov, a
corresponding member of the Russian Academy of
Sciences, prominent scholar and science organizer, was
elected as the director of INM RAS. He introduced a new
research field: tensor analysis and computational methods.
Let us wish him new achievements.
