• a type of therapy used to deepen our awareness of
ourselves and our feelings in a less intellectual
manner than more traditional forms of therapy
• Gestalt implies the wholeness
• feelings in the foreground and in the background
The Effects of Gestalt Therapy?
• we are able to understand ourselves and to choose
whether we want to make changes or not

we are usually identified with only one side of an
internal conflict
• if we can get in touch with both sides, the difficulty
can be resolved without force, the solution just
unfolds naturally
