Feedback
Assumptions: The 4-H workforce will be effective in developing
young people and be recognized for the quality, distinction and
leadership for their work across the field of youth development.
4-H can attract, develop and keep an outstanding and diverse
4-H workforce for years to come.
External Factors –Poor image of youth work and undervalued by stakeholders; disinterest in careers in the nonprofit sector within society;
inadequate evaluation of the impact of professional development; Frequent reductions in training and professional development resources,
limited interest in external funding for professional development; fragmented and uneven professional development efforts and duplication of effort
across local, state and regions; limited coordination with other local, state and federal government agencies and institutions; scarcity of intentional
career paths; heavy workloads, long hours, and high turnover.
