 State of the offseason – Lifting & Capt Prac. accountability, fun, competition,
 Goals for/against, win CCL, Win TW/UA/WK/DC, advance in Tournament
 9 Coaches, 51 Players, ~2 Teams
 Cuts

 Schedule has changed a bit: JVB games, OCC 5:15/7:00
 Spring Break – practice Tues, game Weds
 Policies: drug & alcohol contract; absence (miss practice – not start next game, miss
game – miss another game)
 Parent concerns: talk to Coach Berndt, not on game day, with player present
 Eligibility (each 2 weeks)
 Social media – represent the lacrosse family and yourself well. Colleges check these!
 Recruiting Process (different for everyone)
 Grades!!!! SAT/ACT early and often!!!!
 Multiple sport athletes
 D1 12.6 scholarships; D2 10.8 scholarships; D3 0
 No rush – Hopkins will find you! D3 recruits Seniors
 Be proactive (persistent without being annoying).

 Pick school for all the right reasons (have all 3 categories of schools)
 Why do you want to play college lacrosse? What is important? Paragraph
 Highlight video: youtube link in a professional email!!! OSU 30-60 per day…identify
yourself, jersey number, contact info, coach contact info; 2-3 minutes of Varsity
highlights, then part of a game (athletic plays, proper fundamentals)
 Summer programs: can increase exposure for sure; get on their list for summer
tournaments! OSU “not necessary”, expensive, know coaches, no guarantee of college

to #25 in 2012, but we have a long way to go!

Academics & Eligibility
 Take care of your grades as first priority
 5:30pm practice time each day should allow for tutoring, test
extra-time, etc.
 Study table
Players do not practice during ineligible periods, but are welcome
and expected back when eligible again
