Binding Study Advice (BSA)
• Pass 7 out of 10 courses in first year (42 ECTS)
• Does the program meet your expectations?
• Can you handle the workload and level?
• After the midterms: pre-advice + invitation for meeting
• Special workshops and tutorships
Be sure to report special circumstances timely during
your 1st year!!
BSA and average grade
o Exchange
• To be able to go on exchange, you need to pass all
first year courses
• Some universities may ask for a minimal average
grade
o Honors Program / Outreaching
• The On-Top programs often ask for a minimum of 7,5
of 8,0 average
Examination Committee: responsibilities
• Organization and coordination of exams
• Implementing rules and regulations
• Special circumstances
• Preventing and penalizing fraud and plagiarism
In case of fraud the following penalty can be executed for
example:
o Exam result invalid
o Exclusion for the examinations for the following period
o If you do it again, you can be excluded for one year

• Performance (last four cohorts)
 Positive BSA  68%
 All courses passed  28%
• Courses are building upon each other
 Work hard from day 1!
 Difficult to pass courses in other units if you
get behind in the first units
