Announcements
• Monday is Israeli Memorial Day (Yom HaZikaron)
• The following day is Israeli Independence day (Yom
HaAtzma'ut).
• They’re big days in Israel recognizing the fallen Israeli
soldiers in time past and then rejoicing the
establishment of the State of Israel.
Announcements
• We are in the process of making a 4 foot by 4 foot
sign with our name on it (Beit Aveinu) which we’ll be
putting somewhere down on the main street so
people driving by will see our name and hopefully
start attending our fellowship.
• Bob has been making this sign for us and we’re very
grateful.
Announcements
• Counting of the Omer is a counting of each of the
forty-nine days between the Jewish holidays of
Passover and Shavuot. This mitzvah derives from the
Torah commandment to count forty-nine days
beginning from the day on which the Omer, a
sacrifice containing an omer-measure of barley, was
offered in the Temple in Jerusalem, up until the day
before an offering of wheat was brought to the
Temple on Shavuot (June 7th this year)…
Announcements
• We’ve been doing this on the Beit Aveinu
website. You’ll see the counter at the bottom
of the homepage.
• We’ll be doing a teaching on it soon.

Mark 12:28-29
28 And one of the scribes came, and having heard
them reasoning together, and perceiving that He had
answered them well, asked Him, “Which is the
greatest commandment of all?”
29 And Yeshua answered him, “The first of all the
commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord
our God is One Lord:”

Chavareem Toveem!
• Chavareem Toveem!
• Meet any new people. Let them see that Messianics truly
understand community and brotherly/sisterly love.
• If someone is already talking to a visitor stand in line to meet
them don’t just walk away. We want to descend on them like
they are a lost relative.
• Say hello to old friends. Find out how their week has been
going. Show that you care.
• Say hello to anyone you have something against… and give
them a hug . There is room in the Body for forgiveness.
• Exercise modesty with your hugs.

We’ll read
Lev 21
Ezekiel 44:15-31
Luke 18: 31- end of chapter.
Lev 21
• 1 ADONAI said to Moshe, "Speak to the cohanim,
the sons of Aharon; tell them: 'No cohen is to make
himself unclean for any of his people who dies, 2
except for his close relatives -his mother, father,
son, daughter and brother; 3 he may also make
himself unclean for his virgin sister who has never
married and is therefore dependent on him. 4 He
may not make himself unclean, because he is a
leader among his people; doing so would profane
him.
Lev 21
• 5 Cohanim are not to make bald spots on their
heads, mar the edges of their beards or cut gashes
in their flesh. 6 Rather, they are to be holy for their
God and not profane the name of their God. For
they are the ones who present ADONAI with
offerings made by fire, the bread of their God;
therefore they must be holy. 7 "'A cohen is not to
marry a woman who is a prostitute, who has been
profaned or who has been divorced; because he is
holy for his God.
Lev 21
• 8 Rather, you are to set him apart as holy, because
he offers the bread of your God; he is to be holy for
you, because I, ADONAI, who makes you holy, am
holy. 9 The daughter of a cohen who profanes
herself by prostitution profanes her father; she is to
be put to death by fire. 10 "'The cohen who is
ranked highest among his brothers, the one on
whose head the anointing oil is poured and who is
consecrated to put on the garments, is not to stop
grooming his hair, tear his clothes,
Lev 21
• 11 go in to where any dead body is or make
himself unclean, even when his father or
mother dies. 12 He may not leave the
sanctuary then or profane the sanctuary of
his God, because the consecration of the
anointing oil of his God is on him; I am
ADONAI. 13 "'He is to marry a virgin;
Lev 21
• 14 he may not marry a widow, divorcee,
profaned woman or prostitute; but he must
marry a virgin from among his own people 15
and not disqualify his descendants among his
people; because I am ADONAI, who makes
him holy.'" 16 ADONAI said to Moshe, 17
"Tell Aharon, 'None of your descendants who
has a defect may approach to offer the bread
of his God.
Lev 21
• 18 No one with a defect may approach - no
one blind, lame, with a mutilated face or a
limb too long, 19 a broken foot or a broken
arm, 20 a hunched back, stunted growth, a
cataract in his eye, festering or running sores,
or damaged testicles -
Lev 21
• 21 no one descended from Aharon the cohen
who has such a defect may approach to
present the offerings for ADONAI made by
fire; he has a defect and is not to approach to
offer the bread of his God. 22 He may eat the
bread of his God, both the especially holy
and the holy;
Lev 21
• 23 only he is not to go in to the curtain or
approach the altar, because he has a defect so that he will not profane my holy places,
because I am ADONAI, who makes them
holy.'" 24 Moshe said these things to Aharon,
his sons and all the people of Isra'el.
• END Baruch HaShem
Ez 44 15 - end of chapter
• 15 "'However, the cohanim, who are L'vi'im
and descendants of Tzadok, who took care of
my sanctuary when the people of Isra'el went
astray from me - they are the ones who will
approach me and serve me; it is they who will
attend me and offer me the fat and the blood,'
says Adonai ELOHIM. 16 'They will enter my
sanctuary, approach my table to minister to
me and perform my service.
Ez 44 15 - end of chapter
• 17 "'Once they enter the gates of the inner
courtyard, they are to wear linen clothing; they are
not to wear any wool while serving at the gates of
the inner courtyard or inside it. 18 They are to wear
linen turbans on their heads and linen underclothes
on their bodies, and they are not to wear anything
that makes them sweat. 19 Before going out to the
people in the outer courtyard, they are to remove
the clothes in which they minister, lay them in the
holy rooms, and put on other clothes; so that they
won't transmit holiness to the people by means of
their clothing.
Ez 44 15 - end of chapter
• 20 They are not to shave their heads or let their hair
grow long, but must keep their hair carefully
trimmed. 21 No cohen is to drink wine when he
enters the inner courtyard. 22 They may not marry a
widow or a divorcee but must marry virgins
descended from the house of Isra'el or a widow
whose deceased husband was a cohen. 23 "'They are
to teach my people the difference between holy and
common and enable them to distinguish between
clean and unclean.
Ez 44 15 - end of chapter
• 24 They are to be judges in controversies, and
they are to render decisions in keeping with
my rulings. At all my designated festivals they
are to keep my laws and regulations, and they
are to keep my shabbats holy. 25 They are not
to come to any dead person, because this
would make them unclean; however, for
father, mother, son, daughter, brother or sister
who has had no husband they may make
themselves unclean.
Ez 44 15 - end of chapter
• 26 After a cohen has been purified, he is to
wait seven days. 27 Then, on the day he
enters the sanctuary, when he goes into the
inner courtyard to minister in the sanctuary,
he is to offer his sin offering,' says Adonai
ELOHIM. 28 "'Their inheritance is to be this: I
myself am their inheritance. You are not to
grant them any possession in Isra'el - I myself
am their possession.
Ez 44 15 - end of chapter
• 29 They are to eat the grain offerings, sin
offerings and guilt offerings; and everything in
Isra'el devoted [to God] will be theirs.
Ez 44 15 - end of chapter
• 30 The first of all the firstfruits of everything,
and every voluntary contribution of
everything, from all your offerings, will be for
the cohanim. You are also to give the cohen
the first of your dough, so that a blessing will
rest on your house.
Ez 44 15 - end of chapter
• 31 The cohanim are not to eat anything, bird
or animal, that dies naturally or is torn to
death.
• END Baruch HaShem
Luke 18: 31- end of chapter.
• 31 Then, taking the Twelve, Yeshua said to
them, "We are now going up to Yerushalayim,
where everything written through the
prophets about the Son of Man will come
true. 32 For he will be handed over to the
Goyim and be ridiculed, insulted and spat
upon. 33 Then, after they have beaten him,
they will kill him. But on the third day he will
rise."
Luke 18: 31- end of chapter.
• 34 However, they understood none of this; its
meaning had been hidden from them, and
they had no idea what he was talking about.
35 As Yeshua approached Yericho, a blind man
was sitting by the road, begging. 36 When he
heard the crowd going past, he asked what it
was all about; 37 and they told him, "Yeshua
from Natzeret is passing by."
Luke 18: 31- end of chapter.
• 38 He called out, "Yeshua! Son of David! Have
pity on me!" 39 Those in front scolded him in
order to get him to shut up, but he shouted all
the louder, "Son of David! Have pity on me!"
40 Yeshua stopped and ordered the man to be
brought to him. When he had come, Yeshua
asked him,
Luke 18: 31- end of chapter.
• 41 "What do you want me to do for you?" The
blind man said, "Lord, let me be able to see."
42 Yeshua said to him, "See again! your trust
has healed you!" 43 Instantly he received his
sight and began following him, glorifying God;
and when all the people saw it, they too
praised God.

Today’s Joke
•
•
•
One day G-d called the Pope, and He said, "I have
good news and bad news. First the good news. I am
tired of all the squabbling between the religions on
earth. I have decided there will be only the one
true religion."
The Pope was overjoyed and told G-d how wise His
decision was, then asked, "What's the bad news?".
G-d said,
Today’s Joke
•
"The bad news is that I am calling from
Jerusalem."
Demonology
•
•
This is a 3 part
series.
Today we’ll be
learning about the
various categories
of evil spirits in the
Tanach.
Demonology
•
•
In the next 2 weeks
we’re going to talk
about how the
kingdom of Satan is set
up.
Which spirits fell with
Satan (Cherubim, Chief
Princes etc)
Demonology
•
What the Rabbis in
ancient writings said
about demons (where
they were most likely
to be found here on
earth etc).
Demonology
•
We’ll also discuss the
best methods in
praying and
strategizing against
them. (It’s not the way
you’ve been taught in
Church).
Demonology
•
We’re also going to
find out that Saul did
NOT speak to the spirit
of Samuel, but he
spoke directly to a
demon impersonating
Samuel.
Demonology
•
We’re also going to be
talking about evil
spirits who were so
powerful they turned
planets into dust.
Demonology
•
•
These spirits were
locked up just before
the creation of man
but they’re coming
back.
You might want to
know who they are
and what they’re
capable of.
Demonology
•
•
Before we begin on
this topic we have
to understand one
thing and we have
to understand it
well.
If we’re Born Again,
we have nothing to
fear.
Demonology
•
That doesn’t mean
we don’t need to
understand the
Adversary, HaShitan
(Satan), and how he
operates, both he
and his hosts.
Demonology
•
We need to be
aware of the
spiritual
environment with a
complete strategic
response.
Demonology
•
•
In other words, we
gotta be smart.
Sitting idly by
thinking “we’re
covered by the
blood thus we need
to do nothing” is a
failing plan.
Demonology
•
•
“Study to show
thyself approved”
includes the parts of
the Bible that speak
of demons.
Pan-demonology is
nothing more then
apathy!
Demonology
•
I’ve seen good
Believers often
times saved (lower
case “s”) from their
ignorance in their
responses to
demonic activity
and some times not.
Demonology
•
Some Believers have
suffered due to
their lack of
discernment when
it came to demonic
activity in their own
families and apathy
towards demonic
activity in their work
or communal life.
Demonology
•
A little education
can go a long way
and with a little
effort and an open
mind we can be
effective and
perhaps, just
perhaps dodge a
few bullets.
Demonology
•
Now, In order to
understand
demons, we also
have to understand
angels.
Demonology
•
•
We’ve done a class
here on angelology
and we’re going to
need that
information to build
on a little later.
Because what are
demons but fallen
angels.
Demonology
•
•
•
We’ll start a little with
Lucifer.
If you talk to Jews
today many of them
will say Jews never
believed in an actual
Satan
They say that “he’s
only spoken of
symbolically”.
Demonology
•
I’ll show you in this
series that it’s quite
clear that the
ancient Rabbis
thought of Satan
and demons in a
very literal sense.
Demonology
•
•
So much so that
they even believed
they (demons)
could cross into the
physical realm.
They were
everywhere
according to some
Rabbis…
Demonology
•
Rabbi Abba
Benyamin said, "If
the eye could see
them, they’d go
mad. They surround
one on all sides.
They are more
numerous than
humans.”
Demonology
•
Many Christians
also believe there’s
many evil spirits out
there and quote
Rabbi Yochanon
(John the Beloved)
in Revelation when
he wrote…
Demonology
•
•
•
REV 12
3And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and
behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and
ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
4And his tail drew the third part of the stars of
heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the
dragon stood before the woman which was ready to
be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was
born.
Demonology
•
The commentators
say that this passage
is proof that 1/3 of all
the angels fell with
Lucifer.
Demonology
•
•
One writer puts it this
way… “Bible scholars
agree that a third of
the angels were cast
out with Satan”.
He’s right the
scholars do agree on
this.
Demonology
•
•
They also point out that
“stars always denote
angels in Scripture
unless actually speaking
of stars”.
Which is how they arrive
to this conclusion about
the stars falling are
angels who then became
demons.
Demonology
•
•
Though I do believe
there are myriads of
fallen angels, this
passage is NOT
speaking of that.
Let’s look at the
context of this
passage and see what
we can find here…
Demonology
•
•
•
•
REV 12:1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a
woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet,
and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:
2And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and
pained to be delivered.
3And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold
a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and
seven crowns upon his heads.
4And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and
did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the
woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her
child as soon as it was born.
Demonology
•
•
•
12 stars it says there in
verse 1.
There’s two ways we
could look at this for
starters.
Off the top of your head,
give me 2 ways to
interpret who the 12
stars could be? What
does the number 12
bring to mind?
Demonology
1. 12 tribes of Israel
2. 12 Disciples perhaps
• When I think of
angels, the number
12 doesn’t even
come up!
Demonology
•
In fact, whenever the
Bible speak of stars
it’s ALWAYS referring
to people unless it’s
speaking outright
about stars.
Demonology
•
•
How does the Church
get “angles” out of
“stars”??? It doesn’t
make any sense.
Let’s look at the next
passage and tell me if
it’s talking about
angels…
Demonology
•
•
•
Joseph had some dreams in Gen 37…
8And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed
reign over us? or shalt thou indeed have dominion
over us? And they hated him yet the more for his
dreams, and for his words.
9And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his
brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream
more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the
eleven stars made obeisance to me.
Demonology
•
•
•
•
Who were the stars?
People!
Here’s another passage, Judges 5…
20They fought from heaven; the stars in their
courses fought against Sisera.
Demonology
•
•
Commentators say,
“See! That’s the angels
coming to fight for
God”.
In ancient writings
whenever they say
“course of the stars, it
always is talking about
real stars. Never about
spirits or angels.
Demonology
•
The word course
there is the same
word for orbit and
only used in
connection to
astronomy.
Demonology
•
•
What about this one?
Revelation 1:20
• 20The mystery of the seven stars which
thou sawest in my right hand, and the
seven golden candlesticks. The seven
stars are the angels of the seven
churches: and the seven candlesticks
which thou sawest are the seven churches.
Demonology
•
•
Well, see right there it
says the “angels are
stars”.
Can’t be any more
clear then that right?
Demonology
•
•
We covered this in the
angelology class we
did.
Angels in both Greek
and Hebrew means
what?
Demonology
•
•
It can mean a spirit
messenger or a
human messenger.
I then showed you
that the next chapters
in Revelation said
some things like…
Demonology
•
•
Revelation 2
1Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These
stars
things saith he that holdeth the seven
in his right
hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden
candlesticks;
•
It wasn’t telling us to write to spirit beings in
heaven. It was speaking about a person, the
“Messenger of the Church”, The Messenger
of the Synagogue (the word Church had not
yet been invented).
Demonology
•
•
•
The Messenger of the Church was the Chazzan.
Dr. Ron Mosely puts it best…
There also was a public minister of the synagogue
called a chazen (Massada movie) who prayed,
preached behind a wooden pulpit, and took care of
the general oversight of the reading of the Law and
other congregational duties. He did not read the Law,
but stood by the one who did, to correct and oversee,
ensuring that it was done properly. He selected seven
readers each week who were well-educated in the
Hebrew Scriptures…
Demonology
•
The group consisted of one priest, one Levite,
and five regular Israelites. The terms overseer
of the congregation, angel of the church, and
minister of the synagogue all referred to this
position.”
Demonology
•
•
•
•
•
•
These angels of the Church were people, not spirit beings.
So let’s look at it again.
1Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things
saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand.
So who are the 7 stars? The 7 readers of the Scriptures in the
Synagogue.
Btw speaking of the 7 readers…Acts 6:3
Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of
honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we
may appoint over this business.
Who was Yeshua talking about? The 7 readers!
Demonology
•
•
So there’s some
unlearning we have
to do first here.
This whole thing
about the stars being
cast from heaven in
Revelation being
about angels falling
isn’t consistent.
Demonology
•
The same
commentators who say
that Rev 12:4 is about
angels falling will turn
right around and teach
that Daniel 8 is about
the end days, which it is
about the end days but
they’re not being
consistent yet again…
Demonology
•
•
•
•
Daniel 8
9And out of one of them came forth a little horn,
which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and
toward the east, and toward the pleasant land
(Israel).
10And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven;
and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to
the ground, and stamped upon them.
Sound familier?
Demonology
•
•
•
I’m sorry, did angels
fall again?
Nobody thinks that
Daniel 8 is about
the fall of the angels
with Lucifer etc.
The “scholars” are
simply not
connecting the dots.
Demonology
•
Daniel 8 is talking
about the SAME
THING as Rev 12:1!
Demonology
•
“Well Brother, one is
way back in Daniel
and the other is way
up in Revelation,
easy mistake”.
Demonology
•
Ok lets go back to
the passage we read
in Revelation and
we’ll see them do it
in the same chapter.
Demonology
•
•
•
•
•
REV 12:1And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed
with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of
twelve stars:
2And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be
delivered. (this part of the passage is always used prophetically by the
commentators)
3And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red
dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his
heads.
4And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them
to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to
be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. (This part of
the passage is used to talk about the past, the fall of Satan and the
demons)
Stars and stars do you see a connection?
Demonology
•
•
Call me crazy, but I
think the stars in verse
1 are connected to the
stars in verse 4 and are
talking about the same
time with the same
future tense being
used.
The whole thing is
absurd, let me explain
this to you bottom
line…
Demonology
•
•
•
•
Everything in the Book
of Revelation is
prophetic.
None of it is historical.
Read it through.
John doesn’t speak of
anything from his past,
ONLY of his future.
Demonology
•
•
•
So who are these
stars in Revelation?
They’re people…
saints.
There is a great
falling away in the
end days and that’s
what it’s talking
about.
Demonology
•
•
Torah Light has a whole
teaching on this Great
Falling Away, it’s in my
dad’s book, “The
Empire Of The AntiChrist”.
I wont go into it more
right now, I want to
move on with this
teaching on
demonology.
Demonology
•
For the purposes of
this teaching, it’s
suffice to know that
the stars in
Revelation are NOT
angels.
Demonology
•
So let’s look at some
different
classifications/words
and translations in
the Old Testament
concerning evil
spirits.
Demonology
•
As we do this, it is
important to be
aware that
translation is not a
matter of finding a
single word in one
language that
translates another
word in another
language.
Demonology
•
Translation is more
often the translation
of ideas and concepts
rather than merely
words, and there is
rarely a one-to-one
correspondence of
single words between
languages.
Demonology
•
This is especially true
of languages that are
separated by 3,000
years of history and
culture.
Demonology
•
Strange or foreign gods
(‫זרים‬, zeriym)
•
Disgusting Ones
/abominations (‫תועבת‬,
toe‘eebat)
•
The Devastators/Demons
( ‫ לשּׁדים‬leshediym)
Demonology
•
gods (‫אלהים‬,
elohiym)
•
New Ones (‫חדשים‬,
chadashim,)
Demonology
•
So let’s look at a few
of these categories
so we can
understand more
about evil spirits.
Demonology
•
•
•
•
The first one is “strange gods”. (zariym)
We see this verbiage used for example in Ps.
44
20If we have forgotten the name of our God,
or stretched out our hands to a strange god
(zeriym);
21Shall not God search this out? for he
knoweth the secrets of the heart.
Demonology
•
•
When this particular
term is used it’s
denoting gods/evil
spirits that are
brought by “the
stranger”.
In other words, gods
of other peoples.
Demonology
•
•
Does that mean that
the gods of other
peoples are all real
evil spirits?
No, it doesn’t. People
since the beginning
of time have made
up gods.
Demonology
•
•
Some of them are
real (demons/Satan)
and some of them
don’t even exist.
I could make an idol
out of toothpicks
right now, name it
“Oogelmyer” and
start worshipping it.
Demonology
•
•
•
That doesn’t mean
there is a toothpick
god/demon named
Oogelmyer.
It’s simply a figment
of my imagination.
I made it up.
Demonology
•
•
We have to maintain
that not all “gods”
are real.
We have to keep that
separation in our
minds.
Demonology
•
•
See, I don’t believe
there is a demon of
fire. I believe G-d
created fire.
There are religions
(one in Hawaii) that
worships the “Fire”
god.
Demonology
•
•
•
Can they become
possessed while
worshiping their fable
fire god?
Yep.
They’re just possessed
by a real demon that
exists who masquerades
as a “fire” demon.
Demonology
• abhorrent things is
the next one.
toe‘eebat
• Those are the
demons of
buttermilk.
• My dad and Teresa’s
brother have this
demon. 
Demonology
• This term (toe‘eebat
‫ )תועבת‬means
“Disgusting Ones”
and is often used to
refer generally to the
practices connected
to Baal worship.
Demonology
• that included objects
like sacred poles
(may pole),
decoration of trees
(Xmas)
Demonology
• We learn something interesting about this in
Scripture. I’m sure you’ve all heard people tell
you, “I have a Christmas tree but I don’t
worship it or anything, so it’s ok if I have it”.
• Deut 7:26
• 26 Neither shalt thou bring an abomination
(toe‘eebat) into thine house, lest thou be a
cursed thing like it: but thou shalt utterly
detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it
is a cursed thing.
Demonology
•
Toe‘eebat also included
demons connected to
practices of the fertility
religion (Ishtar and
remember Ishtar was the
wife of Baal, there’s the
connection with Baal
worship) like
homosexuality, which were
all "abhorrent" or
"offensive" to Israelites.
Demonology
• We see an example of that in Lev. 18:22
• 22Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with
womankind: it is an abomination (toe‘eebat
‫)תועבת‬.
• There is a demon that is associated with
homosexuality.
• I’m sure many of you already knew this but
now you know it’s in the evil spirit category
of… “toe‘eebat”
Demonology
• Having items in your
house that are
associated with Ishtar,
the sex goddess, like
Christmas trees (the
phallus)
Demonology
• and the Christmas
wreath (woman’s
private parts), Easter
eggs (fertility) invites
toe‘eebat into your
very home.
Demonology
• This is NOT something
you want around your
kids. You wanna
dodge this bullet,
you’re not always
covered in your
ignorance.
Demonology
• “Well, I didn’t know
so everything is ok”
• Maybe, but I like said,
sometimes not.
• G-d does not ALWAYS
cover our ignorance.
Demonology
• If we allow dirty
things into our house,
we’re opening our
family to dirty things.
• Things connected to
evil spirits lead to
dirty things.
• I’ll give you an
example…
Demonology
• In my travels I have
found the following to
be true.
• I’ve been to some of
the dirtiest places in
the world and there’s
2 things I’ve seen…
Demonology
• 1. Christian (I’m using
Christian as an overall
term here) countries
were the cleanest.
• 2. In non Christian
countries the
Christians/Believers
were cleaner then
their pagan
neighbors.
Demonology
• It has nothing to do
with poor or rich, if
you have two villages
and both have the
same income,
generally speaking in
third world countries
the Christians are
cleaner.
Demonology
• I happen to know that
those who are deep
into spiritism (openly
worshiping evil spirits)
eventually become
dirty people in the
physical.
Demonology
• Those who seek after
evil spirits begin to
emulate them.
• No different then
when Believers in
Yeshua become more
clean as they become
more like Him.
Demonology
• Now, if you have a
messy bedroom I’m
not saying you’re not
close to Yeshua, I’m
simply pointing
something out
concerning people
groups and cultures in
relation to spiritism
Demonology
• The more devout
people are to false
gods, the dirtier they
become.
• The Muslims in the
West Bank were
dirtier then the
“Christian” (Greek
Orthodox)
Palestinians.
Demonology
• The Buddhists in Asia
were dirtier then the
Christian minority
there.
• The Hindus were
dirtier then the
Believers in India.
Demonology
• The more devout
Hindus would drink
urine straight from
the cow and drink
water with the rats.
• I’m not talking about
individuals although I
have seen this play
out at times with
individuals as well.
Demonology
• Again, I’m not talking
about kids here.
• But I have known
Satanists here in the
US and they lived very
dirty lives.
Demonology
• John Wesley wrote
“Cleanliness is indeed
next to Godliness.”
• He didn’t invent the
saying and it isn’t a
quote from Scripture.
• But…
Demonology
•
•
•
it was originally taken
from Rabbinical writings.
it is an old Hebrew
proverb used in the late
2nd century by Rabbi
Phinehas ben-Yair.
I have found a lot of truth
to it. Ok next category.
Demonology
•
•
•
demons (‫ לשּׁדים‬,
leshediym).
This word means
“The Devastators”.
This would include
those who sacrifice
their children to
idols.
Demonology
•
•
•
Psalms 106:37 37And they sacrifice their sons And
their daughters to demons (leshediym).
Yes, some of these words (leshediym, toe‘eebat,
zariym etc) are used interchangeably, one reason for
that is because there’s often more then one evil
spirit connected to an activity.
Another is that sometimes the writer wasn’t sure or
didn’t know what kind of evil spirit it was.
Demonology
•
•
This word leshediym in
the Assyrian language
refers to the creatures
that would guard the
sphinx at Ashur (900
BC).
The spirit of child
sacrifice (abortion) has
been around a very long
time.
Demonology
•
•
The sphinx was the
primary deity of the
Assyrians.
In the West they are
called “griffons”.
Demonology
•
The next
classification is gods
(‫אלהים‬, elohiym)
•
Yes, the word
elohiym, isn’t just
used for Yehovah.
Demonology
•
•
•
•
From Young’s Literal Translation
Deut 32
16They make Him zealous with strangers,
With abominations they make Him angry.
17 They sacrifice to demons -- no god! Gods
(elohim in Hebrew) they have not known -New ones -- from the vicinity they came; Not
feared them have your fathers!
Demonology
•
•
•
•
There’s other examples, not just one in
where elohim is used to refer to evil spirits.
Psalm 82
1God standeth in the congregation of the
mighty; he judgeth among the gods
(elohim).
This term is not referring to angels as some
teach but rather, evil spirits.
Demonology
•
•
•
So what does it
mean in Deut 32,
“elohim they have
not known?”
Doesn’t that just
mean foreign gods?
No.
Demonology
•
•
There were foreign
gods the Israelites knew
and foreign gods they
did not know.
Elohim can mean any
gods, but in this case
they were gods they
hadn’t been introduced
to before.
Demonology
•
•
•
•
These gods/evil spirits
were the “Chadashim”,
the “New Ones”.
These are different
then Strange gods
We know this word
“Chadash”.
We say in Hebrew Brit
Chadasha “New
Testament”
Demonology
•
(BTW Chadash can
also mean
“renewed”. The New
Testament is not a
New Covenant, it is a
Renewed Covenant.
Demonology
•
•
•
Jeremiah 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith
the LORD, that I will make a new
(chadash/renewed) covenant with the house of
Israel, and with the house of Judah.
Yeshua did exactly that, He renewed the
Covenant in the upper room.
The Church says “Jesus made a new covenant
with the Gentile nations”. I don’t recall any
Gentiles in the upper room.
Demonology
•
•
•
He was renewing the
covenant with Israel.
Why did it have to be
renewed?
Because Israel had
broken it.
Demonology
•
•
•
•
So now we know that a
third of the angels did
not fall with Satan.
We also know the
categories of evil
spirits.
Know your enemy…
Shabbat Shalom.
