To Earn an IB Diploma
• Complete Extended Essay, TOK, CAS
• Take six courses, and complete all IB
Assessments
• Grading scale 1-7, and is a combination of
marks for external and internal assessments
• Must accumulate 24 points total to receive the
diploma

Diploma Requirements
• Theory of Knowledge – TOK is a course
unique to the IB program. It is
mandatory for every student. Students
are helped to consider how they know
what they know and to develop habits
of reflection in a deeper intellectual
experience. TOK involves 100 hours of
teaching time.
Diploma Requirements
• The Extended Essay – IB Students are
required to undertake an original
research paper of 4,000 words
maximum. This essay offers the
students the opportunity to investigate
a topic of special interest and become
acquainted with the kind of
independent research and writing skills
expected at the university level.

• Creativity, Action, Service (CAS)
CAS is a fundamental part of the
IB program. The CAS
requirements takes seriously the
importance of life outside the
world of scholastics. Each IB
student is required to complete
150 hours of community service
before they graduate.
